Hi Herbert,
There is a dam at the bottom of Aziscohos Lake and that's where the Magalloway starts. For about a half mile below the dam, the river is a bit boney, but you can find some brookies in the bigger pools. The river is a bit boney because water is being diverted to a hydroelectric station about a halfmile below the dam. Below the hydro station the river is a VERY GOOD salmon and brook trout fishery. The hydro station is right on Rte. 16 and you can park there and then start fishing below the release. Alternatively, about 1 mile south of the hydro station on Rte. 16 you will see some red blazes on some trees on the river side of the road. There is a trail that can be accessed by these blazes that leads down to a nice pool. That's another nice place to start fishing.
Good luck,
Swede
