Lake Sunapee is the major attraction for fishing in this region. Early in the spring, just after ice out, Land Locked Salmon come into the bay at Georges Mills. For a flyroder, this is an excellent time of the year for Land Locks because they are up near the surface. The other major attraction for flyroders in this region is the Sugar River . The state manages this river with a special regulation section, so be sure to check your Freshwater Fishing Digest. Other rivers of note are the Mascoma, Cold, and Smith.
