Plenty of stripers around this September. I was invited to fish with a friend on Monday. Pete Laszlo and I fished for a few hours in the Hampton area. We headed for Boar's Head to look for fish just before the high tide. After twenty minutes of searching we got a call from "Madabout Caddis" who was fishing in the Hampton River. He told us of fish boiling schools of bait so we made our way back to the river and found large schools of stripers feeding. We caught and released many fish in the 14 to 22 inch range. When the tide changed we went outside again in search of larger fish. We found fish feeding close to shore between North Beach and Rye. We found the fish to be a little bigger and had a great afternoon of fishing. Chart and white clouser was the fly for the day. I love September!
