Trailer Hitch

Is anyone here familair with Fifth Wheel Hitches? I am looking for a trailer hitch that I can use to haul a 18,000 lbs trailer using my 2013 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab. Should I go for it? Any other recommendations?

I spent a year on the road towing a 10k lbs trailer and used a Curt 16k hitch, sold it a few years ago, but I think it was the A16. It was super easy to use and we had 0 problems with it. I was in Bend, OR when I had it installed, if for some reason you're heading that direction I can give you the shop's number who installed it, they were great.

That being said I'd be pretty leery of towing 18k with a 1500. Granted we were on the road non-stop for a year and towed almost 35k miles, but in my mind having more power and towing capacity than you need is much more comfortable and safer than being under powered. Don't want to preach or tell you what to do, just wanted to give my 2 cents.

Curt seems to be a good brand.

I bought a fifth wheel hitch on 4WheelOnline a year ago. I was able to get help installing it and I was satisfied using it.
