Yeah, they save me tying a bunch of knots. Aesthetically they leave a bit to be desired, but it makes changing flies a snap :p and it saves on tippet material.

I don't use them trout fishing even...

There is a wire that crosses the river at the USGS gauging station. I've always assumed that that was the upstream mark for ALO. The station's not really visible from the road so it's easy to miss...
