Default Mop Flies

Sorry two of these are upside down...

Anybody use this type flies? Called a 'junk fly' by some. What's been your experience?

Recently I bought $10 worth of assorted color hand mops on Amazon and WallyWorld, and now have a lifetime supply: brown, orange, red, green, blue.

I put some on #12 scud hooks with a 7/64 tungsten bead, and hare's ear mixed with red squirrel dubbing to make the 'head' look buggy. These tied to work the bottom.

Also tied a few with dubbing and partridge hackle, and others with red or brown turkey marabou, to dead drift in still water descending the water column.

Thanks for your feedback.

Spring IS coming!

I tied a few last year (green), gave them a chance and had no luck. I'm kind of impatient with flies though... so it's likely I didn't really give them a fair chance. Same for the squiggly worms I tied up.... no luck.

People seem to think they are magic, but I apparently don't have the right spell.
