Default Bean's Return Policy

No more returning grandpa's old moldy waders for a new pair:

Default Another sign of the end of USA as we know it

Speaks to where we are as a nation. The descent to second rate country continues as dishonesty and selfishness become accepted as normal.

Entitlement creep.
It is a plain fact, however, that downstream fishing with a non-imitative fly (lure, in the British sense) does not mix comfortably with upstream imitative fishing...I'll stay out of the argument about whether this technique is really fly fishing. In terms of interest, it is for me ahead of most downstream fishing and spinning. And I've already opined that spinning is better than staying at home with the television set.

That return policy was their only real edge in the marketplace that I could see. I've bought a few things over the years - mostly hunting coats and boots - and I honestly can't think of a time I would have chosen Bean gear over other gear, without the lifetime warranty being there.

I suppose now they can lower all their prices since they won't have to pay on the warranty, but I won't hold my breath.

Default Vets and Home Depot

yeah. Saw that about Bean's. Hmm, I wonder who made that wise business decision? May not have considered the unintended consequences... on another note ...

I was dismayed to be denied a veterans discount when making a purchase at Home Depot, WSpfld Mass. Previously I had always received a vets 10% discount , there (and at Lowes), when showing my DD214.

The manager informed now that the vets discount is only for active military and retired lifers who hold a small green plastic coated ID. Kinda frosts me HD has no regard for the all the rest (probably the great majority) of the honorably discharged who served America for less than a life stint.

DD214's (discharge papers) are only honored 4x/yr. Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, and Veterans Day.

Guess I'll be shopping at Lowes (unless I'm turned away from there too)...

On the bright side: that leaves more time to spend on the water.
